Tea-tree oil is a natural fungicide and tough component for removing mold. Mix tea tree oil with water inside of a spray bottle to formulate a mold killing solution and shake well.
Follow that up with a light spritz onto the area of mold growth and scrub the surface until the mold starts to disappear.
Eliminate Mold with Grapefruit Seed Extract
Grapefruit seed extract is not only useful for the removal of mold but can also be used as mold prevention.
Combine the grapefruit seed extract with water and apply it to the surface where the mold is located. Allow mixture to sit for a few minutes before wiping it off.
Kill Mold with Hydrogen Peroxide
Hydrogen peroxide is another easy and non-toxic method for mold removal. Hydrogen peroxide should be mixed with water and allowed to sit in the moldy area for approximately ten minutes.
Unlike some other solutions, hydrogen peroxide is safe to use on most fabrics. However, it should be used sparingly as it can leave behind a white stain similar to bleach.

Borax may not be quite as non-toxic as some of the other aforementioned solutions. However, borax is still a better alternative than stronger chemical solutions. It also aids in deodorizing the surface as well.
Combine one cup of Borax with one gallon of water to form the mold killing solution. Apply it directly to the mold. Using a scrub brush or sponge, begin to remove the mold from the surface. Rinsing Borax from the surface is not required as it can remain in the area safely.
